It's been a while ...

So have you ever been given an assignment at school that you thought was impossible? Teacher says - Students ... write a 300 page report on the historyof curtins. Oh, and it's due a week from today. Well, I started this blog because a LOT of funny things happen in my house and I figured that things would happen so often that this blog would probably make it in the World Book of Records for the most OMG's. Well ... nothing exciting has gone on in a while ... so ... please stay tuned. OH ... if you have a funny memory of me or my family ... let me know and I'll blog about it. Of course it will be in my own words. :) ha ha

Carly the Red Nose Human ....

For those of you that know me on a personal level and not thru friendships via work or just family related e-mails ... then you all know that I am not the "Brightest" crayon in the box. I have been known to laugh in the middle of dead silence minutes or even hours after the punchline of a joke is over. I've been known to laugh at my own jokes ... way before I even get to the punchline. I've been known to have the simplest of phrases go right over my head. Wait ... I didn't get that one. My 13 y.o. will use a word and I have to look at Darling Hubby to verify if it is indeed a real word. Yeah ... I get by on my personality and not my brain! Did I mention that I am super gullible? Well ... many many many moons ago when I was a wee child, my mother told me something over and over again and it has stuck with me throughout my entire life. My mother told me that my nose would get bright red like Rudolph whenever I told a lie. WOW ... REALLY? I believed it. C'MON...

When are men beautiful???

It's been such a long time since I've written anything good. Something from the heart ... something with some feeling behind it. Since Marley's passing I haven't really had much to write in that aspect. Until now ... My baby sister Lauren announced she was pregnant last year. No lie ... I was disappointed but I was going to stand by her. That is what sisters do. I even offered to assist her by taking my future niece someday. I was sad and yet happy when she and her boyfriend said they were going to do what they thought was best and take their baby. Fast forward to Friday January 16th. I go to my moms house to celebrate my brother-in-laws birthday. During the showing of "Transformers" (can you believe my mother has never seen it!!!!!), my sister calls for us in the bathroom. She thinks her water broke. OMG. It was actually a leak... but we DIDN'T know!!! I stayed the night. Next morning mom took her walking at Wal-Mart. I went home. Took care of some ...

Sickness ... spreads like melted butter!!!

Holy cow! So ... it's been a while since I've written so I'll go thru the quick version of what has been going on. - Darling hubby is FINALLY in the Navy Reserves and had his first duty weekend this past weekend. - D'Angel was awarded Citizen of the Month by his school! NICE JOB BABY! - Ziggy is had his "natz" chopped off!!! (thank GOD) - Donovan is doing well in school - Russ cut Gaby's hair ... grrrrr ... - Halloween was fun - Thanksgiving was crazy - My mother in law was in town for 2 weeks ... seems like a long time, but we miss her - I took on job # 3! Ok ... now that that is over ... let's get to the "juicy" stuff ... for lack of a better word. So ... my mother in law was in town for Thanksgiving. On her LAST evening here, she rocked Gaby to sleep. Awww ... picture perfect moment! Then ... it happened. From the kitchen we hear her scream "Someone get something quick!" ... now that I have time to sit and think about this. ...

Teenage Woes ...

So ... here it is ... our Donovan is 13 ... practically a man now. He's grown up so much just in the short time I've known him! Amazing how quickly 3+ years can pass. He went to his first school dance last weekend. He even danced with a girl. He didn't tell me he danced with a girl ... he only told his father! He knew that I would have drilled him with "What was she like?" ... "Is she a 'nice' girl?" ... "Did she try to kiss you?" ... "Did you try to kiss her?" ... "Where were your hands ... were they above her waist like they should have been?" You know typical mommy stuff! He helps out with Gabriel more than we ever expected. He likes to put him in and out of the car seat. Thank GOD ... my back is starting to hurt in my old age. We can count on him to keep an eye on Gabriel if need be. He doesn't mind Gabriel being in his room, but only if he is in there with him. Not a bad parenting job R...

I have an addiction ...

Yes ... I'm no longer in denial. I have an addiction. VH1 has this little mini series that started with Flavor Flav ... some of you might know who he is, some of you won't. I won't go into details, if you want to know ... google his name. Anyway ... this man was looking for love. So VH1 gave him his own show where he could have 15 - 20 women compete for his love. Every week, he would eliminate one person. Here is where it get's a little confusing so try to follow along. I didn't really watch this one, I'm not a huge fan of Flavor Flav. From this show, New York (he named all of the women different names based on personality or character) was in the bottom two and lost. She got her own show ... "I Love New York" ... where she got to go thru 15 - 20 men while they competed for her love. THEN ... they figured why not a rock star... so they got Brett Michales from Poison to do his own show ... ready for this ... "Rock of Love." Now between ...

Property Tax Woes ...

Ok, so everyone who knows me very very well, knows that I am horrible with paying my billz ontime. THANK GOD .. I married a wonderful man who cares about credit scores and such. What is a credit score anyway? It's a painful reminder that at 21, you would rather go out and drink and hang with friends than pay that credit card. Or ... that you wanted that really cute top from Express instead of paying off your insurance. YUP ... that was me. I was the sucker that signed up for that Express Card at 27% interest. OK ... laugh all you want, I didn't know at the time that that was OUTRAGOUS! Jump forward ... 2008... so last year I purchased an Expedition. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. 3 kids, 2 dogs ... vacations planned. Whew, just what we needed. NOT!!! So I get my property tax in the mail sometime in ... I don't know ... I think May. Wait, maybe it was early April. Who knows. HOLY HELL ... $144 for a truck? JEEZ. Someone pass me the lube! Holy Moly! I p...
