Property Tax Woes ...

Ok, so everyone who knows me very very well, knows that I am horrible with paying my billz ontime. THANK GOD .. I married a wonderful man who cares about credit scores and such. What is a credit score anyway? It's a painful reminder that at 21, you would rather go out and drink and hang with friends than pay that credit card. Or ... that you wanted that really cute top from Express instead of paying off your insurance. YUP ... that was me. I was the sucker that signed up for that Express Card at 27% interest. OK ... laugh all you want, I didn't know at the time that that was OUTRAGOUS! Jump forward ... 2008... so last year I purchased an Expedition. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. 3 kids, 2 dogs ... vacations planned. Whew, just what we needed. NOT!!! So I get my property tax in the mail sometime in ... I don't know ... I think May. Wait, maybe it was early April. Who knows. HOLY HELL ... $144 for a truck? JEEZ. Someone pass me the lube! Holy Moly! I p

I married MacGyver

Well, I happened to marry MacGyver ... and wouldn't you know it, he is addicted to Stargate too! My lovely 16 month old likes to open and close doors ... I'm sorry ... that is not true. He LOVES to open and SLAM doors. There, that is better. So ... MacGyver comes up with a plan! He takes the puppy's leash and wraps it around the knobs of the door. .. and he calls me GHETTO! Um HELLO ... what about the tall people in the house??? I can't get that crap open if my life depended on it. Well ... the popcorn is in there ... so maybe it is a diet disguised as a puppy leash. Ever try to open a cabinet that Macgyver rigged to never be opened? Yeah ... not as easy as it sounds. Publish Post I wonder what he'll do with the toothpick and light bulb next.

Gabriel ... our Night Terror

Ok, so how often do you hear this in the middle of the night ... 1, 2 ... Freddies comin for you 3, 4 ... better lock your door 5, 6 ... .... You get the picture! That was my lovely 8 year old ... when he was only 3 or 4 ... singing that song, in the dark, in his room ... sitting straight up in his bed NOT facing the door. Just a little freaky. I would like to thank ... Baby Daddy for that one! Move forward a few years ... Gabriel ... our lovely 15 month old. :) Gotta love him ... most nights he goes down with a very little struggle. We try to wear him out during the evening to get him to WANT to go to bed! However ... We run into the nights of our struggle. You'd believe that we were on Survivor! If he doesn't want to go down ... he WILL not go down without a fight! Have you ever heard a baby growl? Well, mine does. He also likes to remix his growling sessions with some tears and snot. Those are fun ... :| My sister recently had a baby so I gave her my crib and we bou

All Dogs Go to Heaven ...

I can only really remember one dog that I was close to growing up ... Peaches. She was a tan cocker spaniel. My mom rescued her from the SPCA (before she even made it in the door) and she became my dog w/in a few days. Many years went by and I moved away. A few months later my father told me that they had to put her down. I don't remember feeling as bad as I should have and I still feel very guilty. Fast Forward to 2008 - So my husband had a dog, Marley, when I met him. It was destiny, she became my dog within a few weeks. She followed me everywhere I went.  She waited for me by the door until I would go visit him.  When I moved in, she would sleep on my side of the bed.  Russ called her a traitor. I called her my new baby girl.  Recently we noticed she hasn't been eating much. She walks very slow and has not been going up the stairs to follow me to bed. Last night I came home and she didn't greet me at the door. I laid next to her for half an hour just petting her. Sh

Forever Young ....

So lastnight out of nowhere darling Hubby says that he heard a song on the radio that got him to thinking about the kids ... I asked him what song and he said "Forever Young" ... Being the smart a$$ that I am ... I start singing in my raspiest (is that a word) possible ... "Fooorrreevvverrr Young" ... "Foooorrrr EVVERR Young" ... darling Hubby was not impressed. He looked at me with a serious face and out of respect for my marriage vows I stopped. "Have you ever listened to the words?" he said. "Of course I have ... " que music ... "FOOORRRREVVVVERRR Young" ... again, he was not impressed by my talents. "If I pull up the song on YouTube, will you listen to it?" ... remembering that I have asked him to take part in several situations that any other husband would have said "Ask your mother" ... I agreed. He goes to the laptop and looks it up. ...When he reads this ... he is gonna be mad at me... The song sta

Pencils really do fly ...

So in light of recent events ... I came home yesterday to a very crazy house. I swear my kids will be my undoing! My lovely 8year old called me at work and asked me where a pencil was so he could do his homework. Now ... he has two very functional legs (they can get him to and from the fridge and cabinets w/ no problem). He also has two working eye balls ... (he can see right thru my little fibs about the Tooth Fairy). I'm at work ... it is Monday ... and I'm having that late afternoon grumbly in my tumbly. Me - "D ... there should be pencils in the top drawer of the computer desk. If there are none there, then you will have to wait till I come home."  D - "I already looked there, I didn't see any pencils." Me - "Well then you'll have to wait till I come home, do your chores and I'll be home after 4:30."  D - "Yes mommy." Now before I continue ... just to make sure that I have not been wrong for all of these years

Yes honey ... let's move bedrooms on a lazy Saturday!!!

Ok ... so maybe you aren't supposed to open up your Saturday Mornings with "Hey honey, let's get these rooms moved around ..." I decided to get this going because my hubby has been talking about it for weeks. I went to my moms house on Friday night and when I came home, I found that our bed (just the mattress and box spring) was now upstairs. WHOA! Nice of you to tell me. I walked into our bedroom and thought we had been robbed by Mattress Bandits! Saturday comes and I'm ready to get this thing going! Hurricane Hannah was supposed to hit us so I figured what better time then while we are locked away in the dungeon of doom in Green Run. BLAH ... I drank my coffee and proceeded to get this show on the road. My toddler fell asleep for about 2 hours and that is when we moved the most. My hubby put together my 8yo's new bed and we were pretty much set for the night. Nice ... it took us most of the day, but my children have now been moved. Mommy and Daddy ...

Carly almost flew ...

So every night my husband and I fight over who has to turn off the light when we go to bed! It's a constant race to see who can make it to bed first. Of course ... being a woman who works in the cosmetic industry ... I have to cleanse, scrub, tone and protect the face every night. Most nights, I am the looser! However, last night was the series premier of BONES! (love that show) We had to DVR it because we had so much going on. By the end of the show (almost midnight) I was nodding off and so was my darling Hubby! We both got up and he raced to the TV and shut everything off... the race is on! He quickly walked to the door to lock it for the evening. I slowly got up from the sofa. He turned to me and said something ... for the life of me I could not remember what he said ... I slowly came around the side of the sofa ... And I'm off .... like a bat out of Hell ... I took off!!!! But wait ... there is something in the way ... I didn't even see it ... what was it ... it w

Tired!

So Russ has been taking classes with The University of Phoenix ... I've been working hard with my new part time The Body Shop at Home. School started Tuesday for D'Angel and Donovan. Gabriel is breaking 5 teeth all at once! Life is crazy. I had my team monthly meeting on Tuesday (9/2) and I was able to get my sister Tara to sign up to join me in my business. She has the power to be motivated and be great in this business ... but I will have to work with her to keep her focused! Donovan started Middle School this year! So far he likes it, I know it has only been two days, but so far so good. D'Angel started 3rd grade this year and so far so good with him as well. He had homework the very first day! Woo Hoo! :) I'm lovin this! Life is good ... yet moving at a slow pace! Hopefully with Russ' college and my part time, the finances will start to look up ... up ... and up !!!
