Why ... haven't I figured this out yet?

Eventually, It will come together. Right? My friends. I will be the first to tell you that I am all over the place. From the moment I wake up in the morning and all the way until 2 or 3 in the morning.  My brain never shuts off.  However, my brain literally has me in mindless rabbit holes about 80% of my day. For example, this morning during my ' quiet time ', I had a vision about my my grass needing to be cut.  Then I brought myself back.  Then I had a vision of my desk and how messy it was, then I brought myself back.  I also had a vision of what the earth looked like from space.  Then my favorite makeup brush. Then if I was going to have eggs or cereal for breakfast.  All of this took place in about 10 seconds. That is when the dogs come into play! Patches is cute, but he thinks he is a lap dog. So, I've decided that it's time for figure out this 'focus' thing. Here is my plan ... so far. I'm sure it will change. I'm sure it will grow, but...

To start this back up again ...

This is going to be a brain dump post ... so get ready! I actually don't have anything super crazy to share or super interesting to share, I almost feel as if I don't write anything, nothing will really happen.  LOL. Lies I'd like to think I am pretty interesting.  So we'll see how this goes. I like to write.  I like to share my thoughts and what I see and how I perceive them. I am a makeup artist in Virginia Beach. I am married ... 10 years strong to an amazing 'White Boy' (it's a long story, I'll share later) I have three children.  Current ages are 21, 16, 9. I am a mother to a beautiful Asperger Baby (my 9yo) I am close with my parents and my sisters. Sometimes a little too close. I hate writing to people but I love to write for people.  Does that even make any sense? I have an unhealthy obsession with Facebook, so I am taking some time off. I like to have my ducks in a row, but they are currently flying off chasing imaginary red dots. ...

Learning From Gabriel ...

I had rough morning with Gabriel. I let my 6yo get the better of me. I know he isn't a morning person, and neither am I. I went out of the routine this morning and let him watch cartoons BEFORE he was ready to go. (at the time it seemed like a good idea, don't judge). Time caught up to us and then it was a mad dash to get everything ready only to realize we were ahead of schedule. That just made me more upset ... that I was upset and I had no real reason to be. UGH. I left without hugging and kissing him goodbye. I made it to the highway before God told me I should call him and wish him a happy day. I called, apologized for fussing at him and I hoped he would have a great day. What he said next has been on my mind alllll morning. He said "We had a rough morning because you forgot to come into my room and pray with me last night. You have to remember to pray with me. When you pray with me, I have a good day the next day." I don't take Gabr...

The Government Made Me Cry

How do I explain this to my children? I am literally in tears right now.  Dinner conversation was intense tonight as I began plans to take over the bills for the house. I'll be honest, my full time job pays me under 40k per year.  My husband makes ALOT more than that. I'm looking at past statements ...  I can't breathe.  I don't make enough money to support my home.  Panic sets in and anxiety takes over.  I am not doing a very good job of hiding it my fear of our future. I need to purchase foundation for some of my future makeup appointments and I made a choice to skip that and pay off the $200 water bill.  I have 2 gigs this weekend, which will support me buying new foundation ... but justifying buying foundation vs. paying off the mortgage.  Foundation loses. Yoder tried to give me his CC to purchase the foundation.  Of course I turned it away.  He tried to hand it to me again ... and now I'm angry.  How can you remain so c...

True Biker Chick

I stopped by Farm Fresh on the way home, today. Of course, I was on my bike.  I've gotten pretty used to weird looks. A girl walking around with a helmet and an Icon chest protector ... most of the time, they are looking for whatever guy I MUST BE riding with. Standing in line with my shampoo and hairspray, I heard a lady behind me say, "What do you ride?" Now, people who don't ride will say, "What kind of bike do you have?" ... I've learned that other riders will ask "What do you ride?" I was tired, on my way home from a late day at work and hungry. I didn't have time for a chit chat about bikes. Not today. I didn't turn around all the way. I said over my shoulder "A Yamaha YZF 600r." The lady said "Oh, thats nice dear." Part of me was annoyed at her tone. Another part of me felt disappointed in myself. I would hate if someone ignored my grandmother like that. I swallowed my pride and turned around. She was...

#22 Super Bowl according to Alex

by Alex Reifert on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 11:36pm there are some things you need to keep in mind when reading this recap: 1) this is the first super bowl that i have ever really paid attention to... 2) actually, it's the first football game that i have watched from beginning to end... 3) i brought a book to the super bowl party just in case i got bored watching the game like i usually do 4) i DID NOT watch the same super bowl game that everyone else in the world watched, 5) my mom's friends are just awesome!!! 6) there were jello shots, lots of beer, and a little bit of wine... 7) carly is female, doesn't know football that well, but is still trying to learn the game... 8) carly is EXTREMELY gullible... so... -what is the super bowl number? we respond "XLVI"... carly says "ok, but what number?"... "...46 carly..." -which team are you rooting for? carly shouts that she's rooting for the one on the screen... -the commentators are talki...

#21 Super Bowl

Still don't get it! So far the men at the Super Bowl said to me the following .. Mike - just look for the stars on the field (needless to say, stars appeared later when Madonna came out) Steve - there is this app that lets you draw the line on the field from your phone.

#18 MW3

Short post... Modern Warfare 3 ... I hate you. I hate the how the friendly controller turns into my worst enemy. I hate that I get shot by everyone. I hate that I can't figure out look left and turn left. Just sayin ...

#17 - Bikini Wax

Sweet Jesus ... what was I thinking? Today I finally got the courage to do this whole "Bikini Wax" thing. I was really really hoping this thing was a fad and it was going to go away, but it didn't. :( After my relaxing message I walked next door (with my husband in tow) and I grew some balls and asked the lady how much the bikini wax was. She could probably tell by my face that I had never done this before. She smiled and pointed at the BIG price board behind her. Oops... fail #1. Holy Hell, $45 to rip hair off of someone’s body? Really? UGH ... After talking myself in and out of doing the wax, I decided that since I was here I might as well just do it. I mean, my motto in life is to try everything once, and the fun things twice. This wasn't quite what I had in mind. The moment that I said that I wanted to do this, a tiny girl comes up to me and starts talking to me about her prices and what she does and does not do. ... I'm confused. All I wanted was a bi...

#16 Patches

This will probably be one of my most favorite photos of all time of D... We were dog sitting for our family friends (The Coburns). They moved to Hawaii and their American Bulldog Patchtes had to stay behind for 3 months. Not even kidding, Yaisa Coubrn came TO ALMOST THE DAY in 3 months to get her baby. We grew to love patches!!! Waaaa .....

#15 ... White Girl Got Bass

For Christmas my sons father gave me a pretty sick set of speakers for my 2001 Expedition. The funniest part is that as a 33 year old woman ... it is rather funny to watch me kick the bass up while I'm driving and then when I get to a stoplight, I'll turn it down as much as I feel necessary as to not disturb any other drivers. I wish that the other YOUNGER drivers were just as considerate. I'll have to post a picture eventually. hahaha ... it is pretty sweet to bass out to some dubstep. :)

#14 A Seizure???

The morning of 1/23 I was extremely grouchy ... then with one phone call my entire day changed and my heart fell into my stomach. Grouchy Carly was gone in .5 seconds around noon today. Got one of the worst phone calls. Gaby passed out today at Pre-school during story time. Thank God that he was sitting down when it happened and he did not hit his head. He was unconscious for nearly 5 minutes. We immediately took him to the Pediatrician an they suspect that he had a seizure. Gabriel is doing just fine now, but we have to take him in for an EEG in a few weeks to learn more. The scary part is that the doctor suspects that he has been experiencing this for a while now and may not have though to say anything because he may think it is normal. The test was today (on 2/2, and yes I know I'm behind on the writing) and he did well so now it is a matter of waiting or the results.

#13 - Drag Yourself To Brunch

I decided to take my mom out on a date and I wasn't sure what to do or where to take her ... I hate it when that happens. The intention to do something nice is there, but the ideas escape me. Ha ... Then it hit me, well sort of. I picked up a Pulse Newspaper from a year ago and the cover shot was of this "uniquely large" drag queen. I read the article and had my idea! Every Sunday at a local restaurant in Virginia Beach called Crocs, there are 2 Bunch sessions. (11 or 2) you are seated among a ton of other patrons. The show started off with a GORGEOUS Drag Queen who came out and had the BEST potty mouth I had ever heard! She was beautiful and tall and had raunchy class! It was fantastic. Needless to say my mother was a bit surprised!!! She didn't know that she was going to a drag show ... and it was her first one! The Drag Queens were fantastic. The dancing and singing was great! The environment was enjoyable and fun. The waitresses were on point and supe...

#12 - Seizure?

This was my husbands post on Facebook today ... "Got one of the worst phone calls at work a Dad can get today. My 4 yr old son passed out today at Pre-school during story time. How scary is that???!!!" Scary moments happen all of the time. We go thru them when we drive and the guy in front of us slams on his breaks. We go thru them when we see that 866 number call and you KNOW that it is the bill collecter. I will keep everyone updated to Gaby's progress. :) Thanks Guys!!!
